Cassiana's Diagnoses
Here is a better explanations of Cassiana's diagnoses. I hope it helps to better understand her conditions and the challenges she faces.
Diagnoses:
Hypoplastic Left Heart – the left ventricle is underdeveloped and non-functioning.
Double Outlet Right Ventricle – both of the heart’s outlets (the aorta and the pulmonary artery) arise from the right ventricle.
Malposed Great Vessels - an abnormal positioning of the great vessels.
Mitral valve atresia – mitral valve is closed or very narrow.
Tricuspid valve regurgitation – the heart valve between the right atrium and right ventricle. The valves don’t close properly causing blood to flow back into the right atrium.
probable subpulmonary stenosis – A narrowing in the artery that allows blood to flow from the right heart ventricle to the lungs in order to be oxygenated
Treatment:
Doctors are unable to decide the best course of action until after delivery. Tentatively, the plan is to complete a 3 stage repair on the heart. A heart transplant will evidentially be needed.
